The Australian government is probably one of the most backward governments in terms of freedom and development.
Australia is over regulated and has created over protected society. This mentality is exercised when dealing with third world countries like Vanuatu. Australia made the same mistake with East Timor.
You would think they learn some time.
The Australian navy provided ships but the East Timorese were not allowed to carry guns.
They were essentially treated like children, much the way Australia is governed.
Australia gives countries enough to survive not to prosper, this is a very big opening for countries like China.
Australia is so backwards that they couldn't even organize an agreement or plan for development in Vanuatu or East Timor. This is evident due to our own energy, housing, employment, education, immigration crisis.
Our government is more fixated on things like becoming republic than every day issues. They are masters of distraction which is very well supported by main stream media.
