Whilst Celularity are emphasizing their lock on the placental MSCs as a strategic plus, (on their website last time I looked) I don't think they would see CYP as something to include in the IPO to get potential shareholders excited in their own listing - it would be potentially mixed messages. CYP cells undermine the value in the strategic supply lock. Arguably they'd benefit more than many competitors if CYP cells failed for some surprising reason (which I don't believe would happen) because then their placental supply chain would be more valuable.

But that doesn't mean that Celularity couldn't take a strategic position in Cyp or that they could not find genuine downstream synergies. If Celularity have made any progress in generating extra-cellular matrix products - (potentially important in regenerative medicine because they could create 3D scaffolds into which other cells might graft themselves) then they could or might also derive those products from CYPs, MSCs or the less differentiated MCAs.

I've still got to do a bit more research to do (to understand the value and productive potential of MCAs) but I suspect MCA's - mesenchymoangioblasts might actually be the cells Celularity would get from CYP. If they want iPSCs (including the iPSCs CYP MSCs are derived from) they could probably get those from CDI.
