Hi Triage.
I am not sure that these career mining executives are willingly walking away from this tier one project. However, without finance there would be no project. I am sure that after all this time they are considering all the viable options and even if a take over offer does occur, it doesn't mean that they won't be around to see this project through to production. A take over can assume all sorts of options and strategic outcomes which are negotiated.
The main thing as shareholders that we should be concerned about is return on our investment.
Seamus Cornelius states:
"In 2018 we have set ourselves several objectives within a clearly established framework with the intention of driving value for our shareholders and all other stakeholders."
"Naturally, with a genuinely strategic tier 1, exceptionally long life and high quality asset such as Colluli, we cannot ignore the possibility that other opportunities, from outside the planned value driving framework mentioned above, present themselves during the course of this year. I can assure all shareholders that should any other opportunities present themselves they will be given full and proper consideration at the relevant time."
These statements which include "driving value for our shareholders and all other stakeholders" & "we cannot ignore the possibility that other opportunities, from outside the planned value driving framework" and the current trading observation lead me to speculate that a take over is on the cards.
After these statements, it is very confusing to see the lack of interest in buying the stock or more interestingly the continuous selling down or capping at the 70c level. The question remains why?
Whether or not a take over offer eventuates remains to be seen.
Let's just hope that if it occurs, there will be competitive rival bids!
Cheers,
WC
