Yep Names Little, charging infrastructure is the elephant in the room alright.
In most area's the existing infrastructure is just not heavy enough to handle the current required if fast charging, or even moderately fast charging, vehicles take off.
It will be interesting to watch how it unfolds over the next decade. Don't dismiss hydrogen & hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
I guess you mean MNS when you mention Cobalt free ? Hopefully they have their JV well tied up as they don't own the patent/tech of that. The JV appears to have backers & some funding coming in so if they can get up & running with binding sales contracts, that is what it is all about.
I wonder if VW knows about UTR's cobalt free Li batteries ? apparently they know about the MNS JV's ones.
MNS seems the have a MC reflecting success whereas KNL has a MC reflecting failure. Just have to wait & see if the 'market' got it right.
The whole sector has that 'Kodak moment' factor written all over it i.e. filmmaking super power one moment & blown out of the water by new technology the next moment. Funny that Kodak is part of the JV MNS is in - could be a sign !!
I guess from an investor point of view I work on the principal of having my bases covered because the truth is I have no idea which tech will be the 'next big thing'. I certainly know some techs that I like, think are amazing & could/will change the world for the better BUT can they make a profitable business out of it & make me some $$ along the way ? that is the question.
