I've been thinking about enterprise and other new markets. I thought i would share my thoughts on things that could happen in the future. Firstly, I haven't spoken to Sean or anyone else at Wangle about any of this so take it all with a pinch of salt.
So my first Idea is "Wangle Employee Insites". It would be a very similar product to WFI but with a little bit of tweaking. GPS tracking only available during certain hours (Monday to Friday 8-5 with changes to this notifying the employee) for example, It would need to have the ability to lock the phone, change the pin and remote wipe. Other than that - App installation notification , analytics on apps being used, analytics on calls, messages and e-mails. Inappropriate website usage, including social media etc would also get flagged (all that is already in place). I think $5 / device / month would be a reasonable price and a lot of business owners would be interested in it. You get security through the VPN and usable data to ensure that your employees aren't wasting resources or using them inappropriately etc.
Desktop VPN is a no brainer for private and in home use but if it could be setup on a router as a proxy for internet traffic I think hundreds of Small to Medium businesses around Australia would sign up. Most internet connections are stupidly slow even the "NBN" connections are constantly being criticised for not being able to reach the 10 or 25 mbps on the lowest tiers. Sell the proxy service to these businesses for $50 / month. Once again, providing security and faster internet connection to those who need it. With this you could easily offer a kickback to IT companies that sign customers up of $5 / month, and it is one of those set and forget things.
That's a couple of the ideas I have had that i think are achievable in the short term. I have some others rattling around relating to data centers and offsite backups but will need to flesh them out a bit more before i would feel comfortable posting them.
I know some other posters on here are technology savvy as well, do you guys have any ideas or thoughts on what may be coming up? I would love to hear your thoughts.
