Wesfarmers offer for Lynas

WOW......

Fair to say that was not an announcement I saw coming.

Huge for the rare earth sector generally though, a conglomerate the size of Wesfarmers, with significant mining experience pursuing this off the back of their Coles demerger.

There are conditions on the offer, including making sure their Malaysian licences are in place and no guarantees it is accepted, but the focus on this sector may even encourage other players to look at the bargain basement prices available over here at ARU!!

Would WES purchase LYC, bed that down and then buy out ARU in 18 months for $200m?
Or does WES become a debt or equity funding option for ARU?
I know who I would be calling today!!

Having built a base at 5 cents, this is now in the category of screaming buy!!
