morning,
there is a big difference in the 'perceived' culture of cricket compared to say tennis or football.
Cricket has been built on gentlemanly behavior and playing with a sense of fairness and grace.
Tennis doesn't come with sayings like 'it's just not cricket' - showing the power of the perception and culture of cricket.
Football has never been in the class race ever - with perhaps a big of a glow for Rugby in earlier years --- but, in general footballers are see as boneheads who you point in one direction and tell them to run that way - making sure that at half time you turn them around to head the other way - so, bad behavior there is almost expected.
Not so cricket which has held itself high above all others as long as history has been written about it from my memory.
So - you live by the sword ---
