It appears as though Smith, Warner and Bancroft have very little competition for their spots. The current test team are possibly the worst batting team to ever play for Australia. 12 months of this, will not be good for test cricket, it was already losing its popularity around the world.
Maybe two international T20 competitions could be played each year to replace test cricket. One in the northern hemisphere summer and one in the southern hemisphere summer.
