"The production of electric vehicles (EVs) requires substantially larger quantities of minerals than internal combustion engine vehicles. Without these minerals, vehicle bodies and critical components such as engine magnets and batteries cannot be built."
Interesting...especially the impact of this requirement on the 'economies of scale' for producing these vehicles.
As we know, the mega Co's of this world haven't given a 'flying flick-pass' about the environment in the past....'bottom line' figures have always the priority.....and, the average consumer wage earner in this 'cash-strapped ' world just wants the best value vehicle for money..."..my little car doesn't do too much damage..."
We know production of EV's is intended to increase over the next 10 years by vehicle manufacturers ...but can the market afford them V's 'traditional' vehicles???
There is still no apparent shortage of oil...nor the demand, if the Indian backed mega billion $$ refinery planned currently in Mongolia is anything to go by...
Interesting times...humans have always put cost and 'value-for-dollar' ahead of environmental reasons...
Will the EV's sell...and how many?.....will they really need all this graphite before oil runs low?
