Good to get your sceptical input.
Last year, before I bought into UOS, I did have a look at some of its largest competitors. I wouldn't say it was the most comprehensive or in depth look, but what I saw was enough to give me a good deal of comfort. And I should say, that it wasn't just the comparative balance sheets that were the source of my comfort. At risk of sounding vague, or perhaps a bit airy fairy, I would also suggest that there is more to UOS's long term performance, vis a vis its competitors, than just its balance sheet strength.
Perhaps I'm being a little simplistic, but I would suggest that those that have demonstrated the highest levels of skill, prudence and returns-on-capital over the long term, will outshine even more convincingly when the tide goes out.
But perhaps I'm just demonstrating various biases that afflict shareholders seeking to justify themselves.
