I understand your point but I have to disagree. You can't expect everyone to be financially literate. I know my mother would struggle. My dad is very switched on being a bio engineer but he doesn't know the first thing about finance.
A better idea would be for financial advisers to do their job, and do it in an ethical and meaningful way. If you go to get a boob job and the doctor stuffs it up you can't go "Well you should have been educated in plastic surgery at a young age". When it comes to financial products, including superannuation and tax it can be extremely complicated and it should be okay to rely on expert opinion if you don't have the knowledge.
