Caught a doco on SBS last night by Jeremy Rivkin , an economic theorist of note . He talks about how the world is going to change because of the shift to renewables and the convergence of communications , the internet and technology .
While he is a climate change believer which might scare some readers off , his talk is more about the technologies that are developing anyway and how they will affect the world socially and financially .
It's pretty long and I've had to rewatch a few bits but I found it a very interesting viewpoint on the future . For example , he predicts an employment boom for the next decade or so in order for us to embrace this technological shift . While I probably didn't agree with everything he said I did find it really informative and thought provoking .
