It has a few meanings in business, depending on the context. All involve keeping things separated, within one entity. In this case, I think they mean that each product stands on its own merits as a business unit. Each, on its own, could potentially be desirable to another entity and sold off by BOT, without affecting the desirability or profitability of the others.
