Ok, this isnt the most scientific-based of opinions, but I'd like to know others views ...
The current TV advertisment for Telstra irritates me no end. It follows on from the "theme" of previous Telstra advertisements.
The "theme" (that's the only way I can call it) consists of staccato statements (rather like bullet lines on a PowerPoint slide), and the visual is associated with 'what -if' and "wouldnt you like to be able to' ... Its all , apparently deliberately, mind-blowing and imaginative ... except its just an advertisment .... which has interrupted my AFL game.
The net affect on me is frustration and annoyance. My thoughts include "Yeah, that is all very well Telstra. But if you're so great how come I had to wait for almost 4 weeks to get my internet and phone connection back after some idiot apparently slashed the cable (that was the official cause of the disruption).
... that advert is on RIGHT now , for crying out loud,
"Get this ... Get that ... Get this ... Get that ... Get with the PROGRAM !"
For a start I dont like being told what to do (as in "get this, get that") ... and 'Get With The Program' is a bit 1990-ish.
How much are we shareholders paying this media firm to produce these ads? Are they having effect (positive , I mean) ?
