just the way that the propaganda war machine works . some people get sucked in, but after a while the novelty wears a bit thin.
if the americans/west did not want regime change in the first instance - ie they wanted a puppet in damascus - then all of this trouble would have been avoided.

afghanistan - also a disaster - the americans should have left the russians alone in afghanistan - instead the people fighting the russians were deemed to be heroes - they even had a space mission dedicated to them. now the americans are fighting the very same people that were fighting the russians .
