PDAC 2018: Concerns raised about supply of battery raw materials

Investors at this year’s PDAC convention voiced concerns that the supply of key minerals and metals used to make batteries such as graphite, manganese and cobalt may not be able to keep pace with demand.

Increasing demand for graphite, cobalt and manganese is coinciding with a lack of sufficient supply to meet future expectations, miners said at this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) investors forum on energy materials and technologies.
