Now in regards to the equatorial tropopause or lower stratosphere no one is suggesting it is fixed in place. We know the height changes seasonally and we know it can vary over decades.
Heaven forbid that that RSS have have a different version of the lower stratosphere than you and mjp.

Radio Sonde data, RSS and UAH satellite data was the FINGERPRINT that the settled used to validate itself. With a lack of a hotspot the TLS satellite data and radio sonde data was the nearest thing to validation of the CO2 science. A cooling stratosphere!
