Any new information would need to be disclosed to the market as per continuous disclosure rules. It appears BIG released this rehash news as maybe a trend towards keeping shareholders informed via other means, a la shareholder newsletters such as other companies do, where smaller matters not requiring disclosure can be released to the public.

In regards to announcements in general, nothing finance wise or market sensitive will be released until ASIC/ASX investigation concludes and they inform the market. Doing so would court more fines and problems!
