When we were kids, one would wash dishes and another two would dry. One the plates and one knives and forks etc.

One night when I was one of the designated dryer-upers I asked my mother " Am I drying the COCKery or the *lery"?

She waited till my father came in and asked me to repeat what I had asked. Neither of them cracked a smile but I was puzzled by this inquiry.

It was decades later that this resurfaced in my mind and I realised the joke !!
