The problem with that logic is that although there were upcoming updates (when is there not?) there was no guarantee that things would be disproportionately positive. i.e. contain information that was not already factored in by all rational observers. I have been watching this stock for months, and its behaviour over the last week has been really unusual.
I actually purchased more based on the assumption that insider trading was occuring because of the trend. Turns out it was a good decision.
