My ex-buddy Andy's on here constantly predicting the end of the economic world as we know it, as have schiffloads of past and present goldbugs, but it hasn't happened, nor will it. We've had a financial crisis, the GFC gave gold a boost, but the hoarders and speculators soon came undone when the prices crashed.

Might be an idea to check out the performance of gold and silver during the Great Depression, because they didn't save anyone. The only investors that were left unscathed and made money were those that owned Treasury Bonds as the interest rates declined, and those that shorted the stock market. Like Joe Kennedy.

Gold and silver are irrelevant as investment vehicles in the modern era except for some speculation. The notion that precious metals prices will be resurrected as sovereign nations reinstate the gold standard is best left to the conspiracy theorists.
