    This may be an 'oversold position'  not a deliberate shorting

    Some Trading Rep may have hit wrong button and sold too many.

    It happened to me once .. cos t me a few bob.  Never picked the error up till too late in the afternoon.

    It had to be treated as a 'short sale'
