According to this link, there were 395,829 devices and 185,622 device fittings last financial year. Divide that by $590 million (if that's the annual HSP budget) and the average cost per fitting is $3,178, average cost per device is $1,490. Only way this makes sense is if a pair of hearing aids is considered to be 2 devices and thus require only one fitting. These costs don't seem unreasonable in the context of the current price of hearing aids.

If 70% of people have "mild to moderate" hearing loss that could be adequately handled by IQBuds Boost, then there's certainly potential!

While the HSP does not cater for all people, don't forget that many people will also have private health insurance that covers hearing aids. Typically it will cover a few hundred dollars which is only a small contribution towards the cost of traditional hearing aids and thus still be beyond the reach of many. If the private health insurers accept Boost as eligible devices, many people with private health insurance could get them for little personal outlay and this could also contribute to potential sales.
