    Cost savings that is.

The value proposition of EDE product is likely to extend well beyond simply $/m3 of hardened concrete.

For example, a shotcrete crew placing say 20% more concrete per shift would be compelling value. That could potentially happen for a range of workability improvements associated with EDE product. Perhaps this might come from the need for less of the problematic steel or nylon fibre reinforcement due to reduced microcracking when drying for example?

Ditto, as Valley Precast has found, turning out beam moulds up to 8 hours earlier translates to a compelling increase in weekly and monthly production. A $100k bridge beam might only contain $20-30k of concrete, the rest being steel, ducts and stressing cables, labour, stripping, lifting, handling and sunk mould, plant and corporate costs. Turning out moulds more quickly works on costs other than concrete.

For US DoT’s, improved productivity is possibly measured in reduced hours before trafficking after concrete pavement remediation works?

There are no doubt more, I just wanted to extend perception of how EDE product may offer construction savings.

If quantified, this becomes part of the sales narrative.

More importantly, savings never envisaged will emerge when the right contractors and designers get involved to solve project related concrete issues.
