I don't know why people get shouted down for wanting an update...

I don't know why people get shouted down for wanting an update every now and then. People make comments like "I'd rather the company work on the project than waste time reassuring shareholders". Or worse, tell you to shut up and wait. I personally don't want companies releasing announcements every 5 minutes telling us the paperclips they ordered for the office arrived today. BUT... as a publically listed company, I don't think it's too much to ask for progress updates, especially with SPEC stocks that haven't proven their worth just yet, and especially when deadlines have previously been missed. Just my opinion.
