    Australia has a major gas export industry to support. They also have a large problem with gas availability and cost to domestic industry for that gas and power generation (amongst other things).
    The last place that will come under pressure from any environmental lobbying will be the cooper basin. There is too much at stake and they have been fracking there forever.
    The elected SA Lib government had a token gift for the environmental club by proposing the ban in farmland SE SA, but don't think that means they are going to give in on the other parts of SA - quite the opposite.
    SA Lib govt is now aligned with the FED Liberals on bringing back some of the base load only available via the more aggressive carbon burning generation.
    Anything is possible in time of course, but I think STX will get a long way down the track with their project before any major structural changes are made to policy in that part of Australia.
    At the very min 4-5 years before it is even an agenda item to be discussed.
