Thanks Dockie. I can't make it to Sydney. Yesterday, finally, after 5 days, HotCopper got back to me when I asked about Private Messaging and said
" As it's a financially related site, we don't condone private messaging, as it has and can lead to boiler room formation for ramping stocks.
We have a 'lounge' where you can tag another member by using the @ in front of their username, but it does remain visible. It's just a quiet place to chat!
When you tag them, they will receive an alert leading them to the post.
From there, you can decide whether to post email addresses to each other."
Having checked the "Lounge" our email addresses would be revealed there so the only other idea I have is if we can use some other forum that allows private messaging. I am on DVBOwners.com where I use vur as my moniker. Once you have joined you click My Controls up the top. This shows your email but it is only known to the moderators. Then, on the left click Compose New Message and enter vur in recipients name etc. I will then get an email telling me you have sent a message and away we go. I guess the moderators can read what we say so that should be kept in mind but there is nothing of interest to them in what I want to say to you.
