I think it’s a very positive sign that the short sales on AVZ are negligible.
AVZ has only 0.01% of its issued capital that has been short sold - so say only 2m shares of the 2 bn shares on issue...

Short Sellers Are normally pretty right and the fact they are steering noticeably clear of short selling AVZ is saying to me they think the ‘risk’ is for AVZ is that it goes much higher after some drilling and JORC definition or that it will be one of the biggest deposits on earth..... they are saying out loud ‘it will be much higher’.
In comparison as at the 12/4/18, look at the massive difference in short sales compared to AVZ - ORE and PLS are respectively the 14th and 19th most short sold stocks on the market and AVZ has basically no shares short sold or just 0.01%
Short sales as a % of issued shares;
- ORE 10.70% short
- PLS 8.73% short
- KDR 2.31%
Nb. These Can be verified if you search ShortMan.com.au
No doubt the sophisticated short sellers understand the enourmous size of the deposit and it’s inherent optionality to some end users in China.
