i invested in rare earths when it was at $15K and have seen reports estimating extreme variations over differing time spans. The main issue is the purity and there are huge differences depending on the extraction rates. There are a few people now with IP that will allow for better extraction so it should maintain a better level as more supply will be at 99.99 than was available 10 years ago.
I invested in a lot of rare earths and have done nicely from most, did have to bail from Niobium as my interests were in Tanzania so bailed as soon as they changed mining laws but still came out good. Looking at them again the other day and maybe worth a revisit shortly as most of the events have settled and price is down over 50% so maybe look at jumping back in.
it was the scandium that first brought me to AUZ at 1.5cents but I think that it is now a secondary part as the cobalt etc will be the main stay short term. Think the scandium will be the cream in a few more years. Thats only my view. i think the only proposed scandium producer I dont have shares in is scandium international as I think they need to widen their scope and if they do will slow down production, so still sitting on the fence.
