    So long as the whole world and his dog isn't in on the conspiracy, I don't see an insuperable problem. All that's needed are a couple of instos (not necessarily Australian) to decide they want a slice of the action and start taking everything the manipulators and cappers can throw at them.

    As Howard and Retro point out, the size of some of the recent trades suggest that this may already be happening. What I am sure of is that there has been nothing to prevent smaller instos acquiring a meaningful holding on market - the looseness of the register, and the sheer volume of shares on offer this year, means that they haven't needed to wait for a CR to get in (unusual for an attractive company with a trivial market cap). Even bigger funds have had the opportunity to build a foundation stake at bargain-basement prices. In my day, supporting the sp today against an understanding of priority treatment in a CR tomorrow, was pretty much par for the course.
