** Stock on track for its 8th straight session of gains; among top gainers on the benchmark index <.NZ50>
** About 314,000 shares change hands, compared with the 30-day average of 224,648 shares
** Shares of Synlait up nearly 190 percent from NZ$3.49 at the same time last year
** Up to Thursday's close, stock up 37.2 pct this year
