Well said Brooksy, truth be know, I think the new rules and regulations tripped up the vrx team, they called a trading halt to make an announcement in regards to an acquisition in good faith but the asx applied their new rules and that caused it all to be bogged down in red tape.
I personally know a QC that specialises in corporations law, he did say that the newer rules are sometimes ambiguous and the way he sees the rules and the way the asx see the rules are two different things.
So if an experienced QC cannot fully understand the rules then what hope have the company directors?
I bet that it has been an intensive learning exercise for everyone involved.
