That is a completely obscene pay out for such a poor tenure. I have mentioned before that CEOs work huge hours with plenty of stress so they deserve to be very well rewarded IF the shareholders are also rewarded and that should be a big IF. QBE has been a proper disaster for years now yet the executives responsible have secured themselves for life financially as a result. Pat Regan also received a stupidly big sign on bonus although I believe he at least took the whole thing in shares.
