"Morning Star has barely produced a million tons over its 100 plus year life span."
Yet Morning Star has produced in excess of 800,000 ounces at an average grade of 26.5 g/t over its lifetime.
My understanding is that there is no need to bulk mine in a high grade mine, the only dilution will be the result of the stope height of 0.9-1.2m.
So taking 0.7m at 93.5g/t from the Maxwell's reef, there will be dilution of around 40% which reduce the grade to around 50g/t, which would be be the equivalent of bulk mining over 30x of ore at 1.5g/t.
