Ceniciviroc, which Allergan paid an absolute fortune and insane premium to acquire, has shown only lukewarm late stage results, but Allergan seems deadset on paying to see how it does in a Phase 3 (I guess because of all the money they already dropped on it). And I agree, Intercept's lead drug has some safety concerns as well.
But those two drugs are antifibrotics, and ours is geared toward inflammation, metabolic regulation, and deccreased insulin resistance. Our drug would be the perfect complement to an antifibrotic.
