Traction motors are the big deal for NdFeB demand in the EV market.
The first gen Volt used two NdFeB PMMs, but second generation saw the rear axle motor flip to ferrite PMM.
The FWD-only Bolt almost certainly uses NdFeB PMMs; probably the same unit LG provides GM for the Volt.
There's a PDF available from UBS Evidence Lab from last year giving an investor-centric teardown of the vehicle. Truly worthwhile read, imo.
