A Neuren position in Missouri …
Well, this is an interesting one.
Missouri is mooted to be reducing its company tax rate from 6.25% to a very low 4.25% - attractive to new companies I think.
A few years ago my previous company set up a ‘base’ in the US. There were two main reasons (which obviously don’t necessarily match the needs of NEU).
- We needed a US contact office and a ‘local’ distribution point.
- We really needed to appear to be BIGGER than we actually were.
So I ask these questions …
- Does NEU need a local US office/distribution point?
Perhaps – in the future. We are a long way off distribution – Ph3 will still take considerable time to complete and if successful, to gain FDA approval.
Perhaps an ‘expanded access’ situation (already suggested) with Rettsyndrome.org backing? Interesting thought and not totally crazy.
- Does NEU need to show Big Pharma that it is prepared to go ahead alone through the Ph 3 process?
Maybe. I have been wondering about this. I believe that Dr T and co. have been in deep negotiations with Big Pharma for some time. He and the BoD are not going to give NEU (and its amazing pipeline) away for less than its worth. This may be part of Dr T ‘playing hard ball’. If you appear weak and needy, Big Pharma will just eat you up.
There could also be a totally different plan at play. I think we are about to find out.
I feel no panic – just great interest.
PS – Great find Hottod.
Obviously just my thoughts.
