    Thanks YB86,

'The fact that the price has risen after a drop shows that genuine sales have gone through in turn proving that yes there are genuine buyers interested in OGX.'

    Genuine sales?

I realise they were orders that were actually executed, but what I am getting at is-

How is it possible for average investors such as myself to know where these orders come from exactly and if the current share price is a true reflection of the market sentiment?

    Put it this way.......
A group of traders can work together by placing fake Buy & Sell orders orders in the aim of influencing the average Joe to purchase at the current or higher price can they not? Bear in mind, I in NO WAY condone this type of trading, as I believe it is unethical & immoral. I am sure that many of you realise that it does exist though.

Cross traders, where shares are bought & then sold (or vice versa) to the same person/ robot etc. to also influence the average joe in making a purchase at the presumed 'Genuine' price.

Robots/ Bots also place fake buy and/or sell orders (Spoofing) to again influence average joe or other HFT's to purchase at an in genuine price.

I personally, DO NOT agree with HFT or any other form of stock manipulation that gives an advantage over average joe. Nor do I agree with insider trading and I think you get the drift...

In the article below it came across to me that the ASX, ASIC, regulatory bodies consider HFT as 'GOOD' for the stock exchangeTaken from an ABC news article & I'm sure many here have read it-

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-04-11/kohler-high-frequency-trade-parasites-at-heart-of-asx/3943052

HFT firms like the privately owned and aptly named Getco (Global Electronic Trading Company), the world's largest HFT operator, produce a large amount of self-justifying research material based around the proposition that they help investors by providing extra liquidity in the market.

How does anyone know if they are genuine orders. That's all I'm asking???
