The leases in the Burra /Jamestown area are certainly of a lot of interest as Burra was historically the top copper producing mine in Australia in 1845-1877.Archer has recently done surface sampling within 25 kms of the old mine and come up with interesting values at Ketchowla and Yarcowie including 0.94% Cobalt, 19% Manganese, and showings of Rare Earths.
However,to support the above, at the nearby old Cartarpo mine Investigator Resources have recently also been scratching around and have seen rock chips up to 1.78% Cobalt, 1.2% Rare earths, 0.5% Copper, 0.4% Nickel and 10% Manganese. Historically Cartarpo mine was recorded as producing (est) 5% Cobalt and 6.2% Copper.
Burra in its lifetime produced 2.7Mt @ 3% Copper (it was also producing from 1969-1981).
I think that these few facts may support the optimism that myself and other SH may have.
