If a person has the power to prevent evil and does nothing, what does that make that person? Answer: evil.
And this is very applicable to real life. Just to quote one example:
When I first married I took my new wife on a honeymoon which ended with a short stay at my sister's home in Christchurch New Zealand, before returning to Australia.
During that time, my new wife and my sister had some conversations (as women do), where she told my sister that she does not love me and intends to leave the marriage after five years. My sister told me nothing.
After five years and a child of the marriage, my new wife duly left the marriage and the dirty legal games began. It destroyed nearly all I worked for.
Sister still refuses to accept any responsibility for it.
