    Your speculation here, MrGordon, just highlights the ambiguous nature of scripture

    Even when scripture clearly contradicts beliefs of some believers, the tap dancing employed by these believers to justify their positions is there for all to see.

    "Three verses after the account about Thomas, John explained that he wrote so that people “may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God”—not that he is God."

    Why then did he report that Thomas said "my Lord and my God" rather than "my Lord and Son of God"? And why did Jesus affirm Thomas's statement "my Lord and my God" to be correct rather than correcting him by telling Thomas that he was the Son of God and not God?

    No, Jesus didn't think that Thomas made an elementary blunder but that he (Thomas) spoke the truth.
