Yea, I went through it, pretty much with a fine tooth comb, checking most Bible references.
Two reasons, one I use them as a test so to speak, to make sure/confirm I'm on track and secondly is to understand what and how others come to their conclusions and check the Bible to see if theirs can be substantiated.
And naturally if one doesn't understand from where someone else is coming from, your not in a position to assess their views or comment.
Clearly the writer is trinity based, hence that influenced their thinking in many areas and in so doing has used references that didn't actually support the purpose or claim that he said they did.

On the whole regarding the Holy Spirit being a person/being, yep,,,, pretty much OK.
However, if they had only just removed the trinity glasses for a bit, it screams out at you that the Holy Spirit is The Almighty God & Fathers personal Spirit as He is a Spirit and naturally you have to conclude that that is Holy as God is Holy.

Jesus at birth must of had his own spirit and as of man, otherwise we have many lies in the Bible. He had to be as man to suffer death. And He did not always have immortality.
Jesus received the Holy Spirit "from" the Father.

In some places when they refer to the spirit of Jesus, it is NOT referring to the Holy Spirit as it is referring to the person, personal spirit of Jesus, the person Jesus and all that he represents.
We have the verse, or the likes of - No one knows the thoughts of a mans spirit except that man himself.
So the spirit of Jesus, the person which we know full well what he was like, doing will of God etc, hence we are to have the spirit of Jesus in us, likewise or like minded.

Jesus makes reference to the Temple,,, be raised in three days - Temple for who = The Almighty God and Father to Dwell in who is the Holy Spirit.
1 & 2 Cor tells us, we are also to be the Temple OF God and one of these says, the Spirit of God dwells in you and the other, God dwells in you = Spirit and God are one in the same, The ONE God as in singular.

Why on earth anyone wanted to create a third being or felt the need to out of the Holy Spirit is nothing but a confounding mystery IMO as per the Bible?
