At times the bible talks about one core like “believe” or “faith”
We have several Bible verses stating - That it is actually God that "gives" us this faith and he also gives it at various measures.
-----------------
Acts 2:33 has nothing to do with the above it’s talking about a different matter. “Jesus” not people who needs to be reconciled to God, so yes we do need someone to lay their hands to receive the Holy Spirit.
Ya WHAT????? Haha - Ref to the bolded section and I'm sorry my friend, due to the words in the Bible (God's), there is no way "we" can go along with what you say here.
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
This verse has zero to do with Jesus's needing to be reconciled to God, he has already risen, with the Father and this promise was Then given, granted and this promise is;
John 14:16 (Jesus) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you.
This Comforter is The Holy Spirit "which IS" Almighty God & Fathers Spirit as He IS a Spirit.
Hence why Jesus said they were to wait for it to come.
Jesus already had this Spirit (his Father) within and without measure and this was at his Baptism timing.
So naturally, when Jesus was to go, the Holy Spirit was going to go with him, hence another, effectively the same/replacement, minus Jesus, But, through this ONE Spirit of the Fathers,,,,,, Jesus can and said he would, come to us as well.
Jesus said, while I am in the world, I am the light of the world Because, he had this Spirit/Word, The Father within and it is the Father, Almighty God which John 1:9 refers to being the true light. (despite what some tampered Bibles say).
So the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit is the Tradition of men, and Jesus gives a very stern warning about following the tradition of men Mark 7:6-9 = no no.
5 So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don’t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?”
6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’[b]
8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
9 And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe[c] your own traditions!
I'm sorry to say, until one gives back Almighty God & Father his Holy Spirit (as he is this Spirit), you will always have trouble getting full and proper interpretations, context etc and likewise, giving back The Word to him in John 1:1.
This Word (God) came IN the flesh (Tent/Tabernacle/Temple of Jesus and he tells us this around 4 times just in John, 14:10 just for starters.
And now that Jesus has set or made the way, God now dwells in us as well as we become the Temple.
We shouldn't be surprised to hear all this and WHY, because Jesus set us the example of what was to be = Simples and in fitting with the verse - We are NOT to corrupt the simplicity which is in Jesus, 2 Cor 11:3.
So with Almighty God being the Holy Spirit lets translate the tampered verse in Matt as it currently stands;
Baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Father = Hmm. Ding, ding, bells are A ringing?
OH and your probably thinking, Almighty God & Fathers Spirit is not the Holy Spirit.
Well just for one, the writer of 1 & 2 Cor thinks Almighty God and the Spirit are one in the same because he interchanges the two between 1 & 2 Cor.
We are the temple of God and one of them says, the Spirit of God dwells in our temple and the other one says, God dwells in our temple. These verses are certainly not saying there is TWO dwelling in us.
