    It costs brokers very little to process orders, whether it is a lot of orders for an institutional investor, or your and my single order.

    And then brokers charge their clients - institutional and retail - more than it costs to actually execute the trade.

    Do you think the broker is conducting the orders for the institutional investor for free?

    Have you seen how spectacularly profitable instutional brokers are?

    Do you really think brokers are trading for institutions for "almost zero cost"?


    "In a fair world let the market forces determine the SP, up or down
    So have your algos, but pay a proper transact price"


    That is exactly - not approximately, but exactly - what algorithmic programs are written to do; in fact, their reason for existence is for there to be minimal market price impact from large orders.

    But don't take my word for it: ask someone who uses algos, or who writes the code for them.

    Pass a law to banish algorithmic trading and you'll see share price volatility increase dramatically, especially for illiquid stocks.
