ORE is still being shorted - Number 29 on the list of top 100 shorted ASX stocks. If you go to shortman.com.au you can see the daily percentages of stock being shorted, and there is a pattern. Shorters go in hard for 4 or 5 days, and we are in one of those periods where about 30% of all shares traded in a day are shorts. Then they back off, the percentage falls to 7 or 8% for 3 or 4 days, then back in. Shorters love a day like this, when the mere scent of a negative broker's report is enough for them to go in and drive the price down to try and scare holders to sell.
The data on shortman.com.au is a couple of days old, unfortunately. ORE is not being shorted as much as it was several months ago, but still up in the top 30.
I'm not too bothered by a fall like today's after holding for several years one gets used to the shorters' rollercoaster manipulations.
