Meteorologist and the SUN

Now why would a much respected meteorological organisation be actively monitoring what the suns SOLAR WIND is doing.  Even to the point where they are trying to predict what it could be doing in 1 hours time.

The countless papers put on here in regards to Solar - terrestrial correlation is enormous.
