"Nature knows best" (well very often) hence Peter went with Akida based on replicating the brain.
A big deal about Akida is to detect patterns and prune the data. It simplifies first.
In contrast, the fruit fly  "sharpens" first and makes searches so much more efficient that Google is interested.
Having read about this I wonder if Akida can use both methods, maybe with a future version.  Let's not get sidetracked with this and delay the release of Akida though.
