With the subcontinental penchant for IT you might be right. I have been there 11 times. The first time was in 1985 and I was amazed at how far ahead of us they were in computer use in places like airline offices. When you say " a country like India" there are about 3... but all in the subcontinent. There is nowhere like the subcontinent. The only thing against your valid point is the vast cost effective labour market. On the other hand it can be excruciatingly hot for labourers. But Indians love anything to do with IT, IP etc. People often talk of China's vast market but our IP would not be safe there. I think it might be easier to protect the IP in India and the market is nearly as vast. There is a lot of money in India as our 20-20 cricketers can attest.
