Well I went into Myer Bourke St store yesterday .... service ‘issues’ have obviously been addressed .... I was approached by 8 staff from the Bourke st entrance to the other side of the store ? Wow even I will admit that is a big turnaround from what I have experienced in the past
Plenty of people in there spending money, however their colognes are still over priced in comparison to (say) a Chemist Warehouse for the same lines.... the new 50 million points competition was advertised everywhere but again I think they should have made this an ‘in store promotion only’ to increase the foot traffic even further .... Eh it’s a start Myer management ... a long way to go, but IMO a turnaround is achievable with the right tweaks ! I can see why Lew wants to get on the Board - it screams potential with the right initiatives ? A shrewd negotiator at the helm would also remind ‘shopping centre management teams’ that they need the Myer footprint in locations and renegotiate rentals ..... all IMO DYOR etc etc
