Typical catch22 situation. No sales so sack the sales staff. No sales staff means no sales.
The answer is send them out to get sales... somewhere there must be someone that will buy the product. Concentrate on the Bentons of this world. They will say yes or no. Surely there is a buyer somewhere. if not then create one.
Early in my career I was producing chicken. The sales staff were telling me that butchers would not buy or sell chicken as it would reduce their meat sales. I had salesmen go from butcher shop to butcher shop and offer to put 6 chickens there and if they were not sold within 3 days they would take them back. These were a brand we were promoting. I then organised a team of women to go from shop to shop and buy back the stock. If it was a shop that wouldn't stock the chicken they would ask for one and leave without buying anything.
Within a month we had butcher shops and dellies ordering 200 each week.
With that in mind I would be chasing up the "Bentons" and offering some incentive for them to use the product by chasing up the contractors that the Bentons are supplying and get them to insist on Edencrete in their mix.
Real salesmen sell not just promote and hope. Pity we don't have an Alan Bond or an Elton Musk type instead of high flying solicitors at the helm.
I'd like the opportunity to SELL edencrete. I'd take it on with a no sale no pay clause in any contract.
